The President for is Professor Robert Winston who has chosen the theme of ‘Setting the agenda for science’. This theme is concerned with issues of ownership and control of science and technology (i.e. who should have ownership and control?), and the role of the scientist in an increasingly public arena.
We anticipate events that help illustrate these issues in terms of trust, ethical standards, openness and public influence.
