Heavy rain and high winds didn’t stop more than 1,500 people – of all ages and abilities – from taking part in the BA’s Science Fun with Food & Plants workshop activities over the four days of this year’s Royal Highland Show (maybe, of course, that was because they were indoor activities!). ‘Sunny Sunflowers’ and ‘Hungry Beans’ were the two new workshop activities on offer (along with old favourites ‘crazy custard’, ‘swirly milk’ and ‘raisin lava lamps’). They’d been provided in response to the Royal Highland Education Trust’s request for a couple of plant-based activities that would serve to link and ground with the environment, the purely food-based ones on offer last year.
(With grateful thanks to Liz Robertson for cribbing and advice on the ‘sunny sunflowers’.)
