A panel of distinguished scientists and science communicators will judge the entries to award the following:
cash prizes: winners will receive cash prizes (overall winner £500, five runner up prizes of £250 and the people's choice award of £100).
press conference: all 24 finalists will have the opportunity to attend a press conference at the festival and the winner will be invited to give a press conference on the 10 September (optional).
festival dinner: winners will be invited to attend the festival dinner to accept their prizes.
Accommodation (if needed), travel and lunch will be provided by the BA.
