The x-change is an event where a panel of leading commentators come together to discuss a variety of science topics. The audience play a key role by asking questions, sharing their views and taking part in interactive voting.
It is an informal and lively event where the social and ethical issues of contemporary science can be discussed.
The next x-change will be held at the , 15-19 July.

The x-change has run regularly over the last 3 years in the cafe bar at the in London. The events have been themed to cover current issues in the news. Previous x-changes have focused on a range of topics such as climate change, saviour siblings, space missions and pharmacogenetics.
The most recent x-changes were held from Monday 5 - Thursday 8 September at the BA Festival of Science in Dublin.
The x-change was launched in London in and has evolved from the ‘best of the fest’ x-change at the BA Festival of Science. Every September the festival x-change is run as a round up of the day's events at the BA Festival of Science. The x-change has also travelled to the which in was held in Stockholm.
