The Working Lunches aim to focus on practical issues affecting science communicators today. The lunches will provide opportunities for professional science communicators from a range of disciplines to enhance their skills in and knowledge of current developments in public engagement, particularly dialogue, by sharing good practice, introducing new developments and networking.
Four Working Lunches are being held at the BA Festival of Science in Norwich. Specifically, these will share learning and skills gained from the Delivering Inclusion in Science Communication project, as well as hearing about the new Science Horizons project and the Community x-change. The first Working Lunch of was held at the Dana Centre in London and discussed dialogue events, in particular the Small Talk project. The first of a series of Working Lunches looking at "A Toolkit for Dialogue" was held at the Science Communication Conference - Scotland as were Working Lunches looking at "Linking formal and informal education" and "Working with the media". Further regional Working Lunches have been held in - venues have, so far, included Oxford and Cardiff.
In, Working Lunches were held in Edinburgh, in Dublin at the BA Festival of Science and in Cardiff. Reports are available online for Edinburgh, Dublin and Cardiff.
In previous years, Working Lunches have also taken place in Exeter and Salford.
