Companies choose to support the BA for a variety of reasons and do so in a variety of ways. For some companies, contributing to the BA offers a tangible way to impact positively upon the communities in which they operate and to inspire the next generation towards a career in science or technology. For other companies, the BA's events and programmes provide exposure to audiences with whom they seek to communicate. However, all companies working with the BA do so because they believe in the importance of connecting science with people.
"AstraZeneca values working with the BA in encouraging students to develop key skills of problem solving, communication, numeracy and literacy, all skills which are needed to follow a career in the pharmaceutical industry. In particular, AstraZenca's partnership with the BA's 'Inspiring Science' Programme for CREST Awards aims to encourage student interest in certain aspects of science and to increase understanding through practical projects that are relevant to the curriculum".
