One of the benefits of Corporate Membership is the option to support science clubs in schools through one of the BA's Science & Technology Awards Schemes.
The BA First Investigator, Young Investigator and Science Communicator Awards Schemes are designed to compliment the science curriculum at primary and secondary school level. Students complete interesting activities or carry out their own supervised projects to work towards achievement of an award. The awards provide an excellent way for teachers to celebrate achievement in science for students of all abilities.
Corporate support of science clubs offer schools:
- An activity pack featuring instructions for activities using readily availiable materials, supervisors notes on how to support the activities, details of how the award scheme works, and how to apply for awards.
- One year membership of the BA including regular news and updates and discounts on attending BA events.
- A class set of 35 awards and badges encouraging clubs to participate fully in the scheme and celebrate student achievement.
As a Corporate Member your company can choose to support science clubs in schools where a relationship already exisits, in specific geographic areas or in schools most in need of science support across the UK. (The number of science clubs is dependent on the corporate membership fee.)
This year the BA is asking our members to help us reach out to schools facing challenging circumstances by sponsoring science clubs in disadvantaged areas and education action zones. We are particularly keen to gather support for schools that otherwise would not be able to take part in the awards schemes.
If your company would like to take part in supporting school science in this way please who will be happy to advise on how your company can take up this option.
