Selection
The deadline for application is 30 April.  After this date the BA will collate all eligible applications to pass onto the media hosts. You will be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria and in what ways you hope to benefit from a placement.
  • Each host will select on different criteria depending on what they are looking for in a fellow.  For example: A host may have a particular article or project in mind when choosing a fellow so will base their decision on your background.

NOTE:Please give full details of your current field or discipline.  Hosts are looking at how you communicate what you work on so try not to just list your research areas.
  • Hosts may be looking for someone who can communicate information in an interesting and imaginative way.
NOTE: Use the application form to show that you can present information in interesting ways and can think creatively.
  • Hosts may be looking for someone who has had a bad experience with the media in the past and are interested to teach them how not to make the same mistakes again.
NOTE: Be honest about your experiences of the media before hand.  Hosts are not just looking for applicants who are already well experienced in dealing with journalists; the fellowships key aim is to give you the skills to work with the media again when you return to your full time job.
